About
Full Stack NodeJs Developer in Kansas City, MO.
Web Developer
I didn't used to make web applications, but now I do.
For several years I worked as a hotel manager. I move back from Colorado to my hometown of Kansas City when I decided to change careers. After completing a 16 week coding bootcamp I was hired to teach the class to the next group of students. That experience gave me a new appreciation for the old adage, "teaching is the best way to learn."
Hiker / Backpacker / Cyclist
When I'm not making web apps, I like to be outside.
One downside to moving back to Kansas City, I miss the mountains! I discovered my love for hiking while living in Colorado, but during the pandemic I rediscovered my love for cycling. In 2020 I literally (figuratively) rode until my wheels fell off. I rode over 800 miles in 2020. The only thing that stopped me from reaching my goal of 1,000 miles that year was a broken wheel. In 2021, I not only met my goal of 1,000 miles, but I passed it, ending at 1,400 miles! Maybe I can beat that in 2022!
Skills
I have mostly worked with the MEAN stack (MongoDB, ExpressJS, Angular and NodeJS). I also have some experience with React from an E-Commercy Udemy course I completed. Most of my projects have been deployed on Heroku, but I have also explored Netlify for some static pages.
- The Usual Suspects: HTML, CSS/SASS, JavaScript/TypeScript

I am looking to join a team of developers that is working with modern tools and fosters professional growth through continuous learning and demonstrates internal career advancement.
